Studying the lives and works of the impressionist masters has provided me with constant inspiration and challenge to explore - Often I will work on a painting in watercolours and pastels while at the same time rendering the image in oils. Problem solving in various mediums is an intricate part of the journey. As a result, the final birthing of my painting evolves to a work that rarely depicts that which I envisaged at conception. The element of surprise keeps me "forever a student".
I define my artwork as a "window into the soul" - these windows I
express in colours, textures, images, atmospheres (often through the human body
and flowers). It is with joy that I have the privilege to share my
"windows" with others.
